Overview
This opportunity came through the University of Hawaiʻi after a documentary director based in Oregon needed local production assistance for an interview taking place in Hawaiʻi. Working remotely alongside the director Bob Richardson. I managed the entire interview segment production on location, including camera setup, lighting, audio, framing, and technical execution while the interview itself was conducted live over Zoom. The experience introduced me to professional remote production workflows while emphasizing precision and consistency with an established documentary style.

The director shipped his complete camera package and production equipment to Hawaiʻi, allowing me to recreate the visual style used throughout the rest of the documentary. Following his technical specifications, I carefully positioned the interviewer, lighting, cameras, and audio while communicating remotely throughout production. Since the footage needed to match interviews filmed elsewhere, attention to consistency became the highest priority. Throughout the interview I monitored framing, exposure, lighting, and audio to ensure the director received footage that integrated seamlessly into the finished documentary.
