Overview

HUE was a collaborative class production created with the goal of producing a festival-quality animated short. Working alongside Monochrome Studio and Director Syril Pecson, I contributed across multiple stages of production, including environmental visualization, background illustration, color, voice acting, and production support. Although I wasn't the director, I played an important supporting role in helping the team visualize environments and complete production on schedule. The film has since been screened at film festivals and received awards, making it one of the most rewarding collaborative experiences of my education.

To help establish perspective and composition, I first recreated the film's environments inside Unreal Engine as fully navigable 3D scenes. This allowed the team to freely explore camera angles before committing to final compositions. Once approved, I rendered reference images that were brought into Toon Boom Harmony where I helped convert the environments into illustrated 2D backgrounds. I later contributed color, voice acting, and additional production support throughout the remainder of development.
