Overview

This collection showcases a variety of animation exercises completed throughout my 2D animation coursework. Each study focuses on developing a stronger understanding of movement, timing, weight, anticipation, and believable character performance. The collection includes walk cycles, jump cycles, lifting animations, and a rotoscoped baseball throw, demonstrating both traditional frame-by-frame animation and observational animation techniques.

Each animation focused on a different aspect of traditional character animations. Most studies were animated entirely by hand using frame by frame techniques, emphasizing spacing, anticipation, follow-through, and weight. The baseball throw was completed using rotoscoping as an exercise in observing and recreating realistic human motion, while the remaining animations relied on traditional animation keyed on 2's and 4's.
